Profits up at Aramark

Operating profits at Aramark in Ireland last year jumped by 17% to €5.8m as revenues increased.

Accounts recently filed by Aramark Ireland Holdings Ltd and subsidiaries show that the group recorded theincrease in operating profits as revenues increased by 4.5% going from €223m to €233m.

The figures show that the group employs 4,061 and the vast majority of revenues were last year recorded in Ireland. According to the directors’ report, turnover has increased on food service and facilities management.

The firm increased its operating profits in spite of incurring €1.95m in costs arising from a restructuring programme. The Irish arm of the US firm paid dividends of €3m and this followed a payout of €3.5m in 2013.

The accounts show that 82% — or €190m — of revenues were recorded in Ireland with 11% in the UK and 7% in other countries.

Remote Sites for Google Maps


Many of Ireland’s most remote and beautiful tourist spots are to feature on Google Street View for the first time next year.
 The initiative will see Fáilte Ireland borrowing the Google Trekker over the next three months to record areas inaccessible to the car used in Google Street View.
 The Trekker is a backpack with a camera system on top designed by Google, gathering images as the wearer moves. It is being made available through a loan programme operated by the company.

Fund Wins CCD Concession

 The Irish Infrastructure Fund which is managed by Irish Life Investment Managers, together with AMP Capital as the Fund's infrastructure investment manager,  has acquired the concession contract to operate and maintain The Convention Centre Dublin following a sale process managed by Rubicon Infrastructure Advisors (the sole financial advisor to Grant Thornton, the Joint Official Liquidators of Spencer Dock Development Company Limited).  
 The deal also includes a long term lease of the 321-space car park that is located underneath The CCD, and the license to build and operate an approximately 330-bed hotel on a site adjacent to The CCD.

Glenroyal sold for €10.5m

The Glenroyal Hotel in Maynooth has been sold to the Comer Group for close to €10.5m.
 CBRE Hotels have confirmed the sale of the hotel which had been included in the NAMA Crystal Collection portfolio sale.
The hotel was offered for sale on the instructions of the receivers Michael McAteer and Paul McCann of Grant Thornton. 
 Glenroyal HotelThe Glenroyal Hotel & Leisure Club was developed and opened in November 1995 as part of the Glenroyal Centre.
It has since been extended and now comprises 113 bedrooms, conference and banqueting facilities, a leisure club, several bars and restaurants and a large unused nightclub or event space.

rtis Show for an outside broadcast live from Carters Chocolate Café at George’s Court Shopping Centre in Waterford City this Saturday 1st August from 8–11am.  
The outside broadcast is a culmination of a twelve week summer partnership between Discover Ireland and the Saturday Breakfast with Alison Curtis show.  Throughout this partnership Alison has been promoting some of the great festivals and events taking place across the country to encourage the people of Ireland to get out there and explore Ireland and soak up some unique Irish festival atmosphere.
Fáilte Ireland is encouraging everyone to come out and attend the broadcast.
