Well Done GAA
The RTE 'Fly on the Wall' documentary on Croke Park included several episodes in the kitchens and restaurants which were altogether more dramatic than anything that happened on the field. Chefs shouted at each other, were accused of not producing enough mashed potato on time and buzzed about the place with a lot more animation than anyone in security or administration, with the possible exception of radio commenator Micheal O Muireacheartaigh.
The most memorable sound-bite however was when the head chef asked his deputy how the lamb was doing and was assured that all was well and the meat was in the oven.
'How are you cooking it ?' asked the HC
'Medium rare'
'Make it well done' replied the HC, as he moved towards the service door. 'The GAA doesn't do medium rare'.
