Shelbourne Trebles Wi-Fi

Bitbuzz, Ireland’s leading provider of Wi-Fi, has recently trebled the capacity of the Wi-Fi service in The Shelbourne Hotel from 50MB to 150MB symmetric fibre to cater for increased demand from conference attendees.
shelbitSince 2012, Bitbuzz has helped the Dublin hotel to increase its event and conferencing business as a direct result of its strong Wi-Fi offering.  According to Fáilte Ireland, Dublin is the ‘go-to’ venue for international conferences; it has secured upcoming conferences that have the potential to boost revenue by almost €8 million. Business Tourism is worth €579 million a year, and the sector has grown by 9% in 2013 and supports 19,000 jobs in Ireland.
Shane Deasy, Managing Director of Bitbuzz said: “Strong Wi-Fi is non-negotiable for holding conferences. People are not just talking or taking notes, they are tweeting, uploading images, live streaming or checking emails. Therefore, hotels must be equipped to meet these demands from event organisers. With Bitbuzz, hotels can be assured of a fast, secure and reliable Wi-Fi service to meet all of these demands. This is clearly demonstrated in the events hosted by large to SME businesses at the Shelbourne Hotel this year.”
Stephen Hanley, General Manager of The Shelbourne Hotel said: “Since 2012, Bitbuzz has been providing our customers with quality, high-speed, secure Wi-Fi. As well as providing top quality Wi-Fi to our hotel guests, we must also ensure this brand of Wi-Fi is available to companies that wish to host conferences here. It is essential to have strong and secure Wi-Fi that will cater from 20 people up to 1,000. Thanks to Bitbuzz, we can offer this as part of our conferencing services. This partnership with Bitbuzz has resulted in more companies hosting events and conferences at the hotel, and now with the latest upgrade to 150MB fibre we expect this to increase further.”
