Tourism Ireland in London, in conjunction with Fáilte Ireland, invited journalist Trish Halpin of
fashion magazine 'Marie Claire't o visit last October. The resulting article appears this week under the headline “Cork is the city break you probably never thought of (but really should)”. The online edition of Marie Claire has about 1.2 million readers every month.
The piece highlights some of the many things to see and do – saying that “Food, music, history, shopping and culture plus a healthy dose of fun make Ireland’s second city the perfect mini break”. It describes the English Market, where you’ll find “the best of Cork’s foodie scene” and some of the city’s many great festivals, including the Cork Midsummer Festival and the Cork Jazz Festival.

Publicity is an important element of our overall actiivty, helping to raise awareness through the British media of the many things to see and do on a holiday in Ireland.”
