Feargal Mooney is to step down as chief executive of Hostelworld, the Irish hostel-focused online booking platform.
Mr Mooney, who joined Hostelworld 16 years ago, will step down as both chief executive and director of the company on June 11th.
He will hand over the reins to Gary Morrison, formerly head of retail operations with global travel company Expedia.
Mr Mooney joined Hostelworld shortly after it was established, working initially as chief operations and finance officer and, since 2008, as chief executive. Mr Mooney steered the group from private ownership to a IPO in 2015, and has led the globalisation of the business including the development of offices in Shanghai, Seoul and Sydney.
