NZ agents tour attractions

A group of travel agents from New Zealand has been enjoying an action-packed visit around Ireland this week, as guests of Tourism Ireland, Fáilte Ireland and Qatar Airways.

The travel agents are pictured at the Tullamore D.E.W. Visitor Centre, with Mary Galway, Tourism Ireland (left), and tour guide Siobhan McDonald (second left).
The aim of the visit was to showcase some of the many experiences on offer here for New Zealanders, so that when they return home, the travel agents will be even better informed to advise their clients when planning and booking their holidays to Ireland. The trip was also a good opportunity to highlight ease of access to Ireland from New Zealand, with Qatar Airways via Doha.
The group’s action-packed itinerary included the Guinness Storehouse, Bunratty Castle & Folk Park, the Cliffs of Moher, the Burren Perfumery, Tullamore D.E.W. Visitor Centre, the Irish National Stud & Gardens and Powerscourt House & Gardens.
Darragh Walshe, Tourism Ireland New Zealand, said: “Working with the travel trade is a key element of our promotional activity in New Zealand, so we’re delighted that these travel agents have taken time out of their busy schedules to come and visit Ireland. There is really no substitute for being able to come here and experience what Ireland has to offer at first-hand. Our aim is that when these travel agents return home, they will be even more enthusiastic about the destination, helping to secure a greater share of their business for Ireland.”
