Early Tee Off for International Golf Media Ahead of Dubai Duty Free Irish Open

ing some of Donegal’s top golf courses  on the Wild Atlantic Way, ahead of the Dubai Duty Free Irish Open which takes place in Ballyliffin Golf Club from 4-8 July.
 The trip, organised by Fáilte Ireland, will allow the journalists to enjoy a showcase of some of the best courses in the North West along the Wild Atlantic Way, including Rosapenna Sandy Hills golf course and Portsalon Golf Club, Old Links Ballyliffin before teeing off at Glashedy Links Ballyliffin, venue for this year’s Dubai Duty Free Irish Open. 
 
Included in the visiting golfing media, are representatives from US Golf Magazine, the world's most widely read golf publication, online outlets such as Augusta.com and Golbal Golf Post, USA, as well as representatives from leading newspapers, the Toronto Star, Canada, Denmark’s Golfbladet and Italian magazine, Golf & Turismo, radio station, Golfnews.Net and their The 19th Hole Show.

Discovering Ancient Stories

Fáilte Ireland will bring to life the history and stories behind some of the oldest towns in Ireland’s Ancient East

through a series of newly updated Historic Town trail signs around the region.
Minister of State for Tourism and Sport, Brendan Griffin T.D., officially unveiled the new Historic Towns signs in Leighlinbridge, Co. Carlow – the first of four towns to have the signage installed.
 He is pictured with Pat Deering T.D. Jenny De Saulles, Head of Ireland's Ancient East with Fáilte Ireland and Martin Nevin, Local Historian.  
 
Working with local authorities and historians, Fáilte Ireland has uncovered interesting and lesser known stories from each area’s history. This content will be displayed through wayfinding, interpretation, photography, maps and other signage across each town.

Top UK buyers will meet directly with 50 of Dublin’s leading hoteliers, business meeting venues and conference organisers to generate new business for the Meetings, Incentives, Conference and Events (MICE) sector in Dublin through a showcase of the world-class facilities the city can offer business delegates.
 
With visitor numbers from the UK to Ireland down by 5% following the Brexit referendum result, the “Meet Dublin in London” workshop event aims to leverage the strength of the lucrative business tourism sector in bringing delegates and new business from the UK market to Ireland.
