Ancient East Breaks campaign

Fáilte Ireland’s 2018 spring advertising campaign for Ireland’s Ancient East promotes the region as the perfect place to take a short break, both in the run up to the St Patrick’s 


and Easter long weekends and beyond.
 Aimed at families, the TV ad campaign builds on the ‘Great Stories Stay With You Forever’ creative previously rolled out by Fáilte Ireland, emphasising the unforgettable holiday experiences and stories to be discovered in Ireland’s Ancient East. The original ad will run for one week , with a new shorter version of the ad rolling out from 26th of February to the 19th of March on RTE, Virgin media, Sky Ireland, Channel 4 and E4.

'Coast' lauds Kerry swimming

An article about wild swimming in Kerry features in the February edition of a popular British lifestyle magazine, profiling Kerry’s coastline for its 32,000 readers. 


 'Coast's a monthly magazine and Tourism Ireland in London and Fáilte Ireland invited journalist Catherine Mack to visit Kerry last autumn. The resulting six-page article appears under the headline “Wide Blue Yonder” and features beautiful photography.

'Love' video promotes Dublin

A great Dublin moment can mean completely different things to different people.


A new Fáilte Ireland video, which was released for St Valentine’s Day, has already clocked up nearly 230,000 views across all social media channels and has now been awarded ‘Ad of the week’ by Adworld.
 The 'This City’s Got Love' video captures a multitude of great Dublin moments and is the message from the rousing and arresting soundtrack that accompanies the footage – a track especially commissioned by Fáilte Ireland, from rising Dublin-based electro–pop duo, Le Boom.

Ireland 'Love' video

Tourism Ireland created a new online film to show why Ireland is the perfect place to fall in love!
The romance-filled video gives prospective visitors a glimpse of how love is everywhere in the home of St Valentine! And, it reminds viewers everywhere that, on the most romantic day of the year, what better way to say “I love you” than to plan a trip to this wonderful island!


 The film is being promoted to potential visitors and fans of Ireland through Tourism Ireland’s social platforms, including Facebook (around 4.2 million fans worldwide), Twitter (476,000 followers) and YouTube.

Polar Bear Goes Green

The Space Needle in Seattle, Chimo the Polar Bear statue in Ontario, the fountains in London’s Trafalgar Square and the San 


Mamés stadium in Bilbao – the home of Athletic Club Bilbao – will join Tourism Ireland’s Global Greening initiative for the first time in 2018. And, making a return this year for the first time since 2014, is the Sydney Opera House.

Tourism Ireland  announced details of some of the famous attractions and sites around the world which will go green to mark St Patrick’s Day this year, continuing the organisation’s first-half promotional drive to grow overseas tourism in 2018. The annual initiative, which sees a host of major landmarks around the world turn green for St Patrick’s Day, has grown from strength to strength, with lots of exciting new landmarks signing up to take part this year.

Other new sites and buildings for 2018 include: the Wawa Goose monument in Ontario and the Cochrane Polar Bear Habitat (also in Ontario), the National Football Museum in Manchester, the Palais de l’Europe (the seat of the Council of Europe) in Strasbourg, Beaugrenelle shopping centre in Paris, the beautiful Kunsthistorisches Museum and the Naturhistorisches Museum in Vienna, the Königsbau building in Stuttgart, Uilenburgersjoel Amsterdam, the Yokohama Marine Tower in Japan, Pen Monument in Hanoi, the Sammy Ofer Stadium in Haifa, as well as Vabaduse Väljak (Freedom Square) in Tallinn.
